Innovation

CEPA and its members see ongoing changes as a huge opportunity for service improvement. CEPA therefore highly supports innovation efforts of its members.

Examples include:

Lower toxicity: the development of new biocides with less unwanted impacts.

From carpet bombing to precision interventions: the development of targeted IPM approaches to keep pest nuisance below acceptable thresholds.

The use of remotely controlled drones in IPM to offer a sustainable alternative to the currently banned large scale aerial treatments. These have been banned in the past because of the issue of significant wind drift of products after application with airplanes or helicopters. Because drones are able to deliver products exactly at the right place and only a few centimetres above the area that needs to be treated, drifting does not occur.
